Crowd Funding Social

This past Sunday, Designbox along with Indiegogo & The Institute of Emerging Issues hosted a gathering of entrepreneurs and professionals from the area to celebrate our creative community prior to the Emerging Issues Forum that took place at the Raleigh Convention Center Feb 11–12.

After mingling for a bit, innovative Raleigh entrepreneurs with crowdfunding experiences shared their stories. Skip Elsheimer, AV Geeks, Charles Mangin, PressurePen, Matt Tomasulo, CityFabric & Walk [Your City], all of Raleigh, told us each in their own way why they chose to crowdfund, and how it affected the success of their ideas, businesses, or lives.

In addition, we were pleased to welcome Danea Ringelmann, Co-Founder of Indiegogo. Danae gave a short presentation about Indiegogo, a crowdfunding platform where people who want to raise money can create fundraising campaigns to tell their story and get the word out. Indiegogo is also a place to discover what people all over the world are passionate about and how to get involved.
