Aly started Gamil Design in 1995 to synthesize the forces of design, engineering and product development. Consequently, Gamil Design has led to innovation at several levels: from in-line skate design for Nike to backpack suspension systems to color and trend forecasting for the sporting goods industry. He has worked extensively with Asian, European and American clients and manufacturers, and has garnered many patents in the process.

Aly is passionate about collaboration and creativity. He has been a guest lecturer, panel member and has led creative workshops for many groups and conferences, including the IDSA Southeastern Conference; the Tasmeem Design Conference in Doha, Qatar; the NCSU College of Management, the NCSU College of Design, Exploris Museum and has been involved in every Designbox community workshop. Aly has also been a guest teacher for the NCSU College of Design.
